The US Senate is currently considering H.R. 1: One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), a budget reconciliation bill passed by the US House of Representatives to address President Trump’s tax cut agenda. This bill includes provisions that impact both the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid.

  • unlikely to increase employment
  • likely to lead to increased uninsured residents
  • likely to cause significant administrative burden and costs to states
