Spark Grants
Goal: The purpose is to provide grants to support opportunities to meet a community need in a responsive manner.
- Grant size: up to $5,000/year
- Duration: One-year grants, with the possibility of a two-year renewal (up to three years maximum in funding)
- Additional Eligibility:
- School districts or their foundations are eligible to apply for Spark grants only for each of their school buildings, not for the school district overall.
- Examples:
- Discrete programs in schools or the community
- Meeting or training expenses
- Potential Impact:
- Organizations leverage funding to address a community need aligned with the social determinants of health.
- Increased organizational capacity, particularly for nonprofits engaging with marginalized populations.
- Increased collaboration among community-based organizations.
- Increased knowledge of program successes and challenges.
